Shinju S. Morris - Shinju is a Californian through and through. Born in the shadow of the Hollywood sign, she ended up spending the majority of her years in San Francisco, and returned to Los Angeles for her undergraduate work at UCLA. Although she was primarily preoccupied by her intercollegiate fencing career, along the way she worked as a laboratory technician for the UCLA Neuropsychiatric Institute, and served as Sports Editor for the UCLA yearbook.

Shinju was involved in the UCLA Fencing Team, both as a competitor and a coordinator. She earned medals both individually and with her teammates on the Women's Foil Team in intercollegiate league play, and in the All-Cal (all University of California) Fencing Tournament. The year UCLA hosted the All-Cal's, Shinju organized and ran the event.

During the 1984 Olympics, Shinju was recognized by the Los Angeles Olympic Organizing Committee for her volunteer work at the fencing event for the games. She is also a former member of the governing board for the Southern California Division of the United States Fencing Association.

After graduating from UCLA with a double major, Shinju worked for a mid-sized bankruptcy law firm in Century City. She then spent two years working for a premier Family Law Firm in Beverly Hills, prior to attending Golden Gate University School of Law in San Francisco where she earned her J.D. Shinju and her husband, John, opened their own law office together in Arcadia. She has blended her duties as Managing Partner of the firm with raising two children. Shinju enjoys spending time with her family, reading, hiking, going to movies, bowling (she is a one time ABT champion), and going to Disneyland both with and without the children.

Shinju is a member of the Los Angeles County Bar Association and the Family Law Section. Shinju is also a member of the National Association of Counsel for Children. She also serves as the Membership Chairperson on the Board of Directors of the San Gabriel Valley Chapter of LeTip International. Shinju especially enjoys her service as appointed Minor's Counsel in the Family Law branch of the Los Angeles Superior Court, where she represents children in high conflict family law cases.
